One-click electromagnetism at the nanoscale
Near the tip of a plasmonic rod, at its longitudinal resonance, the decay rate of an emitter oriented along the rod can increase by orders of magnitude; the calculator splits it into radiative and non-radiative parts.
The rod's tip field points along the rod, so an emitter dipole along that direction couples strongly and one across it hardly at all.
The share of the decay that produces light: radiative rate over total rate. Close to a metal much of the energy is absorbed instead (quenching).
